An Important Next Step for Startup America: $400 Million in New Commitments and Resources from Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft, HP, Intuit and Others

Since the launch of the Startup America Partnership less than 90 days ago, the response from the private sector has been staggering, and today is no exception. We are excited to announce an impressive new wave of commitments totaling more than $400 million from participants including Google, LinkedIn, Microsoft, Intuit and HP. These commitments will help finance, mentor and guide the next generation of entrepreneurs through every stage of the business life cycle.

The new partnerships announced today are all part of the entrepreneurial ecosystem that supports startups and empowers them with the tools, education and resources they need to thrive. Many of today's best companies started out just as an idea, and with the proper guidance will grow beyond the founders’ wildest dreams. In the future, today’s burgeoning small businesses will become mentors to the next wave of budding startups and the cycle will continue.

You can watch us talk about these partnership announcements live during a roundtable following President Obama’s Shared Responsibility and Shared Prosperity town hall hosted by Facebook today at 1:45PM PDT / 4:45PM EDT (our roundtable starts at 4:30pm PT). For a full list of participants and their commitments, check out the full release and fact sheet.

In addition, you may have noticed some changes to our website over the last couple of days – we’re excited to roll out a new interface that is focused on YOU – the entrepreneur.

And in the coming weeks, the Startup America Partnership will also roll out a new free membership program, which will allow young companies ranging from the Startup, Rampup and Speedup stages to register to apply to become member companies and access resources to help them grow. The resources will help entrepreneurs in all aspects of their business, including financial management, mentorship, advertising and IT tools for success.

We are excited for the latest round of commitments and even more thrilled that these resources will help startups smartly grow and scale their businesses and ultimately create jobs.
